Vako Orchestron Model D
For sale is a very rare vintage Vako Orchestron Model D synthesizer keyboard. A super cool keyboard originally designed as an alternative to the Mellotron, but instead of using tape, using optical discs with prerecorded sounds. This model comes built in to a convenient hard travel case. A large collection of optical discs can still be purchased new online. It's fully functional and our techs will clean the sliders and have the keyboard serviced for optimal playing before shipment. Perhaps the most famous user of the Orchestron was Kraftwerk. Due to vintage nature of these keyboards, it's still possible the new owner will need to do an occasional tune up or maintenance. This Orchestron in particular has been featured on recordings by Laurie Anderson, John Zorn, Bob Weir and the electronic music group Tipsy.

Listing update: It includes four total optical discs: Saxophone, String Ensemble, French Horn and Marimba.
